New Hat

Today we got out of the house early because we had a couple of showings scheduled. We went to our favorite restaurant called Bubba's. Bubba's has good southern cooking and the best breakfast ever! After breakfast we went across the street to Baby Bliss to get Lucy's some shoes. While we were there I saw the cutest hat. It was not cheap but I rarely splurge so I went for it. When we got home we realized the hat is a tad too big but Lu is growing like a weed so the bigger the better. Her two bottom teeth popped out last Sunday. She is growing up so fast.

House news...we had 4 showings in 24 hours but still no offer. Please continue to pray that we would sell this house before we move to Nashville. And along those lines, we are so very thankful we have found two wonderful homes for our sweet doggies. Our good friend Jay who lives in NOLA will be taking Elvis. He and John worked together at the 8th Marine Corps District. Jay and Elvis know each other well since our evacuation days in the Embassy Suites. And one of my oldest friends Jennifer will be taking Andy. She has two young boys and I am sure they will wear Andy out. He is going to have a blast! We feel so blessed that two wonderful people will be caring for the boys.

It is difficult to tell her eye color. They look so dark in pictures but up close they are greenish-hazel-brownish. Mom said my eyes turned brown very late so I think Lucy's will too.

If you look really close you can see her two teeny tiny brand new teeth.

We are so blessed to have such a sweet tempered baby. She is so happy.

More fun with Alexa

We babysat for our good friends Justin and Shelley on Saturday night. It was their last date as parents to one child. Their baby Hollan will be delivered on my birthday December 1st! Lucy loves spending time with Alexa. When she sees her big girl friend she gets a little grin on her face and her legs start kicking away (that's how we know when she is so happy!).
Alexa had fun feeding Lucy. She was able to get her to eat a lot because she was mesmerized with the "big girl."

Alexa helped John give Lucy her bottle. She then decided her "baby" Amy needed to eat. Lucy became very interested in what Alexa was doing and started messing with Amy's head. We decided Lex should feed her baby on the other end of the sofa.

Happy 7 month birthday, Lucy!

Hard to believe but my sweet Lucy is 7 months old! She is such a dear. Just two days ago I inspected her bottom gums and felt two large lumps. I think teeth are well on their way. She is waking up more and a bit cranky. She is also propping up on all fours now and is rocking back and forth. I think if we had carpet she would be closer to crawling.

Today we visited with our dear friends Alexa and Shelley Charton. We will miss them so much when we move. They are members of our community group at Watermark and Alexa has been part of our lives since she was 10 months old. She is three now and is such a sweetie! She has a new baby sister on the way any day now and loves practicing with Lucy. She is great at giving paci's and sharing toys. She and Lucy played dress up.

John also mentioned today that Lucy seems to be growing new hair. Funny I hadn't noticed until he mentioned it today.

We still have the house on the market. We made the tough decision to lower the price a bit. We have prayed about it and feel it is the right choice. This market is just so crazy. Please continue to pray that we would sell this house. We are also prayerfully considering what we should do with our two dogs since we have as many as three out of state moves ahead of us in the next 14 months. We are facing many challenges but remain so thankful for all God has blessed us with...especially sweet Lucy.

Some new fun pics

Lucy is such a good poser. Yesterday we got a little stir crazy since Daddy had to work late. I took some fun photo's of Lu with my bath cap on. Don't ask me why I own one of these things. I thought only old ladies had plastic shower caps but I guess I have joined the club. Lucy is such a happy baby. She is so laid back and easy going. She has had another little cold so that is why she looks a little weary. That and I was laughing so hard I think she was a little scared.

Better late than never...

Okay, so Lucy is nearly seven months old now and I am just now starting my first post. I have posted on friends blogs which has linked them to my blog which contains NOTHING! So, I am compelled by much peer pressure to start (Thanks Laura and Shelley). On top of that we are moving to Nashville in January. John starts his next rotation with AT&T in January 5th. For those of you who don't know, John is in the Leadership Development Program with his company. He does a series of three intense rotations that expose him to different areas of the biz. After the rotations he selects an area of the company he likes best and is permanently placed there. He completed his first rotation here in Dallas and we feel blessed that the Lord has provided an opportunity in Nashville close to my family and oldest friends.

We could use your prayers because our home has not sold yet. This has caused some great anxiety but has grown our faith. The Lord has provided so greatly for John and I during our seven years together. He has sustained us through a move as newlyweds to California, a deployment at the start of Operation Iraqi Freedom, San Diego wildfires (which came one mile from our apartment), and Hurricane Katrina that required a 4 1/2 months stay at the Embassy Suites with our 2 dogs. In addition, between the two of us, we have been in three nursing programs and three MBA programs. Are you tired yet? The point is He has sustained us and provided when it seemed impossible. So we are choosing to believe Him that all things work for our good and His glory.
